Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in media reports focusing on Bisphenol A (BPA) found in baby bottles and other polycarbonate feeding equipment. Polycarbonate plastic, which is clear and nearly shatter-proof, is used to make a variety of common products including baby and water bottles, sports equipment, CDs and other household products.
BPA can leach into foods and beverages when exposed to high temperatures (e.g. heating food or milk in polycarbonate containers or leaving polycarbonate containers in direct sunlight). Even though the levels of BPA which have been found to have leached from plastic into food are below the levels known to be harmful, as a precautionary measure, we have decided to eliminate BPA from all bébelle feeding products to offer parents the safest option.
